What is MGUS?

MGUS is a non-cancerous condition. People with MGUS do not usually need treatment but there is a small risk of MGUS developing in to a blood cancer.
Senior Nurse Telephone Clinic
Your Haematology Consultant has recommended that you have regular blood tests to check for any changes.
The blood test can be done at your local hospital or your GP surgery. Please have your blood test done about two weeks before your telephone clinic appointment. You will need to make an appointment for this.
You will be given regular appointments for the nurse led telephone clinic. Your blood results will be checked by a clinical nurse specialist/nurse practitioner who works closely with your consultant.
Your nurse will call you at home or on your mobile phone so please ensure we have your correct telephone numbers.
Please do not attend the outpatient department. You will be sent a blood form after each appointment. Please keep this form safe in readiness for your next appointment.
Your appointment will be for a set time and date. However, the nurses run a busy service so please be patient if we have not contacted you at the exact time.
