We work closely with all members of the MDT as well as GPs, Community Nursing Teams and other Allied Healthcare Professionals that may be involved in your care.

How can we help?

We are here to offer specialist advice, support and information to:

  • people undergoing investigations where there is a concern they may possibly have a lung cancer or Mesothelioma as we know this can often be a very worrying time for patients and their families/important others.
  • people with a primary lung cancer/Mesothelioma diagnosis.
  • families and important others of those undergoing investigations for, or with a diagnosis of, lung cancer or Mesothelioma.

Keyworker role

We will be your ‘keyworkers’. The role of the keyworker is to act as a point of contact, help co-ordinate your care and provide information on investigations and/or treatment options to support you and your family/important others with decision making.

We can also refer to other specialist teams to ensure you feel supported throughout your care, including both health and social care and volunteer agencies, to support you at home where necessary.

Follow-up appointments

We are a very busy team, and we may not always be able to attend clinic for all your appointments.  If you wish to see one of us in clinic, please contact us prior to your appointment and we shall make every attempt to be there.  If for any reason we cannot attend, we will then contact you by telephone as soon as we can.
