Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning for another placement, we are delighted to welcome you to United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) Team.
We hope your induction provides a positive introduction to the Trust and your specialty, helping you to settle quickly into your new role and feel supported from your very first day.
As a resident doctor, you are a valued member of our clinical teams. We are committed to providing a supportive learning environment where you can develop your knowledge, skills and confidence while delivering high-quality patient care. Throughout your placement, you will have access to a wide range of educational opportunities, supported by our experienced Postgraduate Medical Education team, who are available to support you with educational supervision, portfolios, study leave and any training-related queries.
We encourage you to make the most of your training by engaging with teaching, keeping your portfolio up to date and seeking feedback throughout your placement. Your own feedback is equally important, so please use Resident Doctor Forums, local surveys, Exception Reporting and your Educational or Clinical Supervisor to share your experiences and raise any concerns.
Most importantly, we hope you enjoy your time with us. Every placement offers an opportunity to learn, develop professionally and make a meaningful difference to the patients and communities we serve.

Your First Day
Please ensure you know where to report on your first day by checking your induction information in advance. If requested by Human Resources or the Systems Access Team, please bring the required documentation with you, including photographic identification (such as a passport or driving licence), any right to work documentation, and any original certificates or professional registration documents requested as part of your pre-employment checks or systems access.
A map of each hospital site, including staff and visitor car parks, is available below to help you plan your journey. Unless you are staying in the onsite accommodation and have already arranged your parking permit, please use the visitor car park on your first day while your staff parking permit is being processed. Parking elsewhere without a valid permit may result in a parking charge notice.
Your ID badge and IT systems access will be issued or confirmed during the induction process, with further guidance provided where any additional action is required.

Staff parking permits are managed through the CPP System and must be applied for using the self-service registration process.

The Guardian of Safe Working has responsibility for overseeing the safety of resident doctors working, and provides assurance in this system of exception reporting, and hours and rest monitoring.
