More than 500 staff and patients have submitted nominations to awards celebrating the hard work, care and dedication of hospital staff in Lincolnshire.
The United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust staff awards run every year, celebrating hospital staff working across Lincolnshire, with nominations made by both staff and patients.
This year there have already been 500 nominations made with a month to go before the closing date- far exceeding last year’s total of 430 entries.
Of the nominations received, more than 60 have come from grateful patients who have wanted to recognise the outstanding care they or their relatives have received in Lincolnshire’s hospitals.
Every individual or team nominated for an award gets a personal letter from the Trust Chair Dean Fathers thanking them for their dedication, and all nominations are considered to go forward to a glittering awards ceremony, taking place in April 2017.
Mr Fathers said: “We have been overwhelmed by the response to the awards this year. The huge number of nominations that have come in so far is testament to the high regard that the public of Lincolnshire hold for the quality of care that our staff provide to patients every day.
“We are so pleased that our staff are being recognised by their colleagues and patients, and I can only encourage more people to come ford and make a nomination if they have experienced care that goes above and beyond.”
The awards have 11 categories, including great patient experience, care, compassion and respect, team of the year, volunteer of the year, research and innovation, unsung heroes, extra mile, outstanding leader and caring together.
The closing date for nominations for the 2017 awards is Friday 13 January 2017.
