The United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity is a premium charity partner which means you can take part and raise money for them and patients staying in hospital over Christmas.

The charity provides the additional extras to elevate the work of the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust at Lincoln, Grantham and Pilgrim hospitals that cannot be provided by the NHS.

This Christmas the team are recruiting 40 festive fundraising volunteers to run in aid of the charity. Some of the spaces have already been filled – but there are plenty more available.

United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity Manager, Ben Petts, said: “It’s an exciting year as it’s the first time United Lincolnshire Hospital Charity has got involved with the event and we are a premium charity partner.

“In addition to the £15 registration fee, we are asking each person to raise a minimum of £75 for the charity to help us celebrate the NHS 75th anniversary this year. Every step you take will support the Christmas activities we’re providing in our hospitals.

“This will include a Christmas present for every patient waking up in our hospitals on Christmas morning, a festive meal for all colleagues working on Christmas Day and also for all of our amazing volunteers who dedicate their time to supporting patients and staff.

“We know how hard it can be being in hospital at any time of the year, but particularly at Christmas. We are doing everything we can to make it special for our patients and staff and thought the Santa Fun Run and Walk would be the perfect way to help raise funds.”

The Lincoln Santa Fun Run and Walk will take place on Sunday 17 December from Castle Square. Everyone taking part will received a Santa suit (excluding under 5s) and a medal.

Louise McPeake, a Contracts Officer who works at Lincoln County Hospital, has already signed up for the run. She said: “I cannot promise that I will be dashing around the route, but I will be laughing all the way knowing that I am doing something to support the charity.

“They do so much throughout the year to support patients and staff. The plans they have for this Christmas are really going to make such a difference for our patients. There is no better way to step into Christmas and share some festive cheer.”
