All are invited to an annual, traditional service of lessons and carols, taking place on Monday 12 December at 7.30pm in Lincoln Cathedral.

The Lincolnshire Hospitals Band, the only NHS Brass Band in the country, will be playing and the Lindum Ladies Choir will support the carol singing at the Lincolnshire Healthcare Carol Service.

This year there will be a special solo performance by one of the Cathedral choristers accompanied by the Cathedral’s Director of Music. The Bishop of Grimsby will give the address and the lessons will be read by staff from a cross-section of Lincolnshire healthcare trusts.

Admission is free and tickets are not necessary. An offering will be taken during the service and this year it will be presented to the dementia care charitable fund.

Ruth Birkinshaw, bereavement coordinator for Lincoln County Hospital, said, “This is a long standing and well-loved event in Lincolnshire healthcare’s year. An opportunity for all those involved in the provision of or touched by NHS services in our county to come together and enjoy a joyous celebration at this special time of year, in our beautiful cathedral.

“Everyone will be made most welcome and families and friends are encouraged to attend. Please do join us for what promises to be another magical evening.”
