Staff working in Lincolnshire’s hospitals are being recognised for their amazing caring, kindness and dedication in a bumper year for the ULHT Staff Awards.

This year an impressive 430 nominations were received for the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust Staff Awards 2016, 100 of which were from patients. This is an increase over just 150 nominations overall the year before.

Now, the shortlisted entries can be revealed, which span wards and departments across all four ULHT hospitals, and all staff grades, as well as both clinical and non-clinical staff.

The shortlisted individuals and teams will now be invited to a glittering awards ceremony, to be held at the Princess Royal Sports Arena on Thursday 14 April, kindly funded entirely by sponsorship from suppliers of the Trust.

Trust Chairman Ron Buchanan has written to every individual and team nominated for an award this year, he said he’s so grateful to those patients who took the time to make a nomination.

“The number of nominations this year has been amazing, particularly when set against the context of operational pressures that all our colleagues have encountered.

“To be recognised by your peers, your patients and the public is something to be truly proud of and is testament to the real dedication and commitment displayed by our whole workforce. The Trust Board is really proud of everyone who has been nominated for these annual awards.”

Trust patient representative Roger Thorley helped out with the shortlisting of nominations and said: “It’s great to see so many dedicated teams and individuals being recognised in such superb way. I can say from a patient perspective it is this sort of recognition of effort and application that adds to the confidence in patient care throughout ULHT.”
