Five minutes with… Alison Ward – Legal Services Manager

What do you like best about your job?

I like the fact that no two days are the same, it can be very stressful and high pressure but I get involved in lots of different areas across the Trust.

Which three people, living or dead, would you invite to a dinner party and why?

Russell Kane – he’s just hilarious and would make us laugh all evening.

Madonna – just because it’s Madonna.

The Dalai Lama – I would love to speak to him about his insight on life.

Who had the greatest influence on your career?

When I first started in the NHS my manager was Sarah Skelton, she was the director of nursing and she was a great mentor and manager, she was also a little bit scary.

If you could have any superpower what would it be?

Invisibility, just think, no travel costs as you could just sneak onto planes, trains, boats etc.

What was the last thing that made you smile?

My little dog Hugo.

What talent do you wish you had?

To be able to draw or paint.

Who’s your favourite band?

The Stone Roses but I also like Little Mix and any cheesy pop.

What is your greatest achievement?

Completing the Lincoln 10K twice!!

Where is your favourite place in the world?

It has to be my bed.

If you could change one thing about where you work what would it be?

To have more resources to enable everyone to do an even better job.

If you were stranded on a desert island, what three things would you take with you?

My phone, my dog and a Swiss army knife.

How would you like to be remembered?

As someone who friends, family and loved ones could always trust and who wasn’t afraid to take a risk or two.
