Glenn Skinner suffered a massive stroke earlier this year and spent time on the hospital’s stroke unit.

In order to say ‘thank you’ to staff on the ward, Glenn’s family decided to host a charity football match at Burgh-le-Marsh, to help raise funds for the department.

In total, £2,379 was raised and Col Norris, who works on the Pilgrim stroke unit, said the money will go to fund vital equipment.

“Lots of local business and friends and family of Glenn donated prizes for the event including a gym membership, photo shoot, hair dressing, beauty appointments, hampers, meal vouchers and lots more.

“We are really very grateful and the money will help to buy specialist chairs for patients to sit in whilst undergoing their rehab on the unit.”
