Red Arrows bring Christmas cheer to children in hospital

Children in hospital received an early Christmas present when a team from the Red Arrows flew into Lincoln County Hospital with teddies and other gifts ahead of the festive season. Engineers and support staff spent time meeting the young patients on Lincoln County Hospital’s Safari and Rainforest wards – not far from the team’s home base of RAF Waddington - and handed out teddy bears and other items paid for through fundraising carried out during 2025.

This year, volunteers across United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust have given more than 12,000 incredible hours of their time in a variety of roles – from meeting and greeting patients to running book clubs and offering companionship on wards.

Grantham school joins Carol Service in celebration of town’s hospital

Pupils from St Mary’s Catholic Voluntary Academy are taking part in the first Carol Service to celebrate the special relationship Grantham and District Hospital has with the town and surrounding communities. The school children will join in the singing of favourite Christmas Carols as well as perform their own set musical piece at the Carol Service on Thursday 11 December at 7pm, in St Wulfram’s church, Grantham.

Lincolnshire mum raises £1,081 for Hospital Charity after daughter’s health scare

A late-night hospital visit turned into a nightmare for a Lincolnshire mum when an emergency X-ray revealed a shadow on her young daughter’s throat. For a few months, Philippa’s six-month-old daughter Phoebe had been struggling with a chronic cough. One evening she took her to A&E at Lincoln County Hospital where an emergency X-ray was taken.

Mum’s half marathon charity fundraiser to thank hospital for son’s care

Leo Andrew was born in November 2024 and spent the first 24 days of his life at Lincoln County Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. Mum, Kayleigh Andrew recently returned to the unit to hand her donation to the charity team and say thank you to staff who cared for her son. She said: “I don’t run, so when my friend persuaded me into taking on this half marathon, I thought I would try and raise some money as well.
