Lincolnshire’s NHS trusts are calling on members of the public to show their support for the county’s caring and dedicated staff this International Nurses’ Day.
The worldwide celebration takes place on Friday, May 12, marking the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale and the highly respected work of the nursing profession.
United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT), Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LPFT) will be taking to their social media pages to celebrate the work of their teams using the hashtag #loveLincsNHS – and would love for members of the public to do the same.
The trusts would love to hear stories about teams and individuals who have made a difference through great care and dedication, so they can pass on the thanks and appreciation directly.
Michelle Rhodes, Director of Nursing at ULHT, said: “International Nurses’ Day is a very special day to recognise the hard work and dedication of our amazing nurses. Even though it’s Nurses’ Day, I would be very wrong not to celebrate my peers, colleagues, other professionals and all those nurses who work in partnership every day. We are grateful to all of our clinical and non-clinical staff who go above and beyond to provide the best care they can for the patients of Lincolnshire. We are incredibly proud of the staff working within the trust, and would like to thank everyone for what they do.”
Lisa Green, Director of Nursing and Operations at LCHS, said: “The support and great care our services provide in the local community would not be possible without the expert knowledge, compassion and dedication of our teams. This not only includes our skillful and dedicated nurses, but our wider teams of clinical support staff, therapists, administrators and corporate teams, who all play a valuable part in keeping services running every day of the year. Thank you to each and every one of them.”
Anna-Maria Olphert, Director of Nursing, AHPs and Quality at LPFT, said: “I’m really proud of the specialist mental health and learning disability care we provide. Our nurses, and wider healthcare teams, really help people at some of the most challenging times in their lives.Lots of patients and carers tell us how staff make a real difference to their lives and in some cases even saved their life! We want to celebrate these stories, not only to recognise staff, but also show people with mental health problems that recovery is possible. We will also be using the week, which is also mental health awareness week, to raise the profile of mental health and show how important just talking to friends and family about mental health can be.”
