As the Trust progresses with its fire safety improvement work, we are required to demonstrate to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue that all staff have been trained in the use of emergency evacuation equipment.

We need to comply with this target by Thursday 30 November, and therefore are urging all staff who have yet to do so, to attend one of November’s remaining training dates.

Any member of staff could be required to participate in an evacuation situation to support a non-clinical or clinical emergency and we require all staff to undergo this enhanced training.  Please make every effort to attend one of these hour long training sessions as soon as you are able to. You do not need to pre-book attendance.

We currently have a requirement to report non-compliance of training directly to Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service. If there is a valid reason why you cannot comply with this request, please advise your line manager. If you are a line manager and are struggling to release staff please endeavour to do so as you have an obligation to support the Trust in reaching our required compliance levels.

Please also ensure that you have recorded completion of your training by carefully printing your name and signing the attendance register so we can accurately record your details.  You may also be asked to participate in a team evacuation exercise to evaluate the effectiveness of your learning.

Every training session is open for all staff to attend (including non-clinical) and you can contact the Trust’s Fire Safety Advisor Keiron Davey on 07815 445979 for more information.
