Jim Smith is organising the fourth Julia Cracknell Annual Golf Day as his way of saying thank you to the hospital teams who cared for and treated his wife.

The event is being held at on Friday 8 September at Market Rasen Golf Club in aid of the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity. There are still a few hole sponsorships available at a cost of £70, so please get in touch if you’d like to sponsor a hole.

The popular event is then followed by a brilliant auction where you can bid for a signed Lincoln City FC football shirt, Tyson Fury signed gloves, a snooker cue signed by 17 players (including six World Champions), a Rory McIlroy framed and signed print, Leicester Tigers Gin signed by 10 players (including Martin Johnson, Martin Corry and Austin Healey), an Essex County Cricket Club signed shirt and so much more. More information is available on the Julia Cracknell Golf Day Facebook page.

Jim said: “I will always be so grateful for the treatment and care these amazing doctors and nurses gave to Julia. This is just my way of saying thank you. I know the money raised is always used to help other cancer patients and the dedicated staff who work on Ingham Ward at Lincoln County Hospital.”

United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity Fundraiser, Gary Burr, added: “Every penny raised by Jim and the golfers in memory of Julia will be used to directly support patients and staff in our hospitals. It really does make a massive difference and we are so appreciative of their ongoing support.”
