Brand new DVD players and a range of films have been very kindly donated to a Lincolnshire hospital ward thanks to a very special film screening.

The Savoy Cinema, Boston held a screening of the film Peter Rabbit with all proceeds going towards the children’s ward at Pilgrim hospital, Boston.

The screening raised £561.87 after tax with 111 tickets sold.

The ward has taken delivery of 13 portable DVD players and a range of films for children to use whilst in hospital on the ward.

Ward sister Emma Boole said, “This is such a brilliant idea and donation. We know that all the children on the ward will really appreciate being able to use these at an often difficult time. Thank you to everyone involved.”

Samuel Thwaytes, Cinema Manager, said: “We are so pleased to be able to help the children’s ward in this way, which made sense for us as a cinema. What better way to brighten your day than to watch a film! We hope it helps some young people get through their time on the ward more easily and a big thank you to all the people who attended the charity screening.”
