NHS Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES)

The Workforce Disability Equality Standard (WDES) is a set of ten specific measures (metrics) that will enable NHS organisations to compare the experiences of disabled and non-disabled staff.

We celebrate the incredible diversity of the population of Lincolnshire and our workforce, along with the significant benefits inclusion brings to the county, and particularly to the local NHS.

The WDES is a set of ten specific measures (metrics) that enable us, as an NHS Trust, to compare the experiences of disabled and non-disabled staff. We use this information to develop a local action plan, which enables us to make progress with disability equality and demonstrate it year-on-year.

Like the Workforce Race Equality Standard, the WDES is mandatory and helps NHS Trusts like ours to achieve these important goals of equal access to career opportunities and fair treatment in the workplace

The WDES was introduced in 2019, and you will find all our WDES reports published below.

We are delighted to publish our WDES report and action plan for 2022-2023 below. We look forward to our continued improvement actions around the WDES.
