We have a well-established donation team who are responsible for supporting bereaved families and offering them the option of organ donation. Many people need an organ transplant and sadly there is a national shortage of organs. People who require a transplant may wait for years before the gift of life is given. Many organs and tissues can be donated and you are able to choose what you would like to donate in the event of your death, if you wish to be an organ and tissue donor. It is important whatever your decision you share this with your family.
We aim to offer this to all people who are able to donate their organs and tissues after their death. The specialist nurse in organ donation and the clinical lead for organ donation work closely with the organ donation committee to ensure we are achieving the best for the people and families of Lincolnshire.
