Outpatient appointments

Our outpatient departments and clinics provide a wide range of specialist services to patients in Lincolnshire. You may be offered an in-person, telephone or video appointment, depending on your referral.

Can I be accompanied?

If you are attending an Outpatient or diagnostic appointment, one other person can accompany you. However, in some of our departments, such as radiology at Lincoln County Hospital this is not possible. If you have an appointment for radiology at Lincoln County Hospital please attend alone. Please note a visitor is able to bring you to the waiting room, but must then leave. Our volunteers are also able to help you to your appointment if support is required.

Due to the number of patients, we see in our outpatient and diagnostic departments visitors may have to stand during busy periods. Seating is prioritised for patients.

Outpatient appointment guidelines

Please be aware of the following guidance for all outpatient appointments:

  • Patients must only arrive 5 minutes before their appointment
  • Please be aware that at busy times those accompanying a patient to an appointment may be asked to stand
  • Hand hygiene is to be adhered to at all times.
  • Face masks are no longer required in our hospitals, unless you are advised to use one by the ward or department you are visiting. Those who would prefer to continue wearing a face mask in any area of our hospitals are welcome to do so.

There are outpatient appointments run by United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust at Lincoln County Hospital, Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, Grantham and District Hospital and County Hospital, Louth. If they are suitable you may also have an outpatient appointment on the telephone or through video calling.

You can also access your outpatient appointment details through our online portal. You can find out more by visiting our digital letters and online patient portal page.
