Of the various types of statistical averages, the mean is most affected by extreme values. Some patients who have more than one condition that might affect their treatment may have a longer waiting time than other patients with fewer healthcare issues, this will likely result in a longer average waiting time being shown in the My Planned Care platform.
We expect there to be variation in waiting times for individual patients due to range of factors, patients are being managed in clinical priority and therefore waiting times can vary depending on clinical urgency.
