A one contact point for all your outpatient appointment queries.

We have a dedicated team which can help with changing an appointment or support with the appointment.

Don’t forget you can also access all of your Digital letters and gain online access to your outpatient appointment information

Please note: have your NHS number available when you call us to be able to use the automated options and save time.

Please be aware that we receive our highest volume of calls on Mondays and Tuesdays and in the morning. The best times to call are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons.

When you do contact us, please provide us with:

  • Your full name
  • Date of birth
  • Full address
  • Your NHS number (you can find it on any NHS letters or in the NHS app).

Contacting us about your hospital appointment

From May 2026, when you contact us about your hospital appointment, you may notice some changes to how we interact with you.

We are introducing the Patient Services Hub in direct response to patient feedback about accessing information about care and the timeliness of communication. While we are implementing this new system, there may be some disruption. Please bear with us while we make these improvements.

What will change when you call us

We will offer patients more choice and autonomy by using automation and digital solutions to ensure simple queries are answered and actioned efficiently and easily. This will allow our staff more time to help with complex queries and to be available when you need, or prefer, to speak to someone.

When you call us, you will be able to complete some queries using our new voice‑automated system, for example:

  • checking the details of your appointment
  • rescheduling an appointment
  • cancelling an appointment

Don’t worry – you can still speak to a member of staff if you prefer. The Patient Service Hub provides a single point of contact for all hospital appointment queries.
