Screening process in Lincolnshire

You’ll receive an appointment through the post at an interval depending on the results of your previous screening event:

  • Every two years if no retinopathy is detected in your eyes over the last two previous years.
  • Every year if there has been a small amount of changes (R1) in the last two years or you have not been screened for two consecutive years.
  • If you have more advanced changes, you will be invited between three months and 12 months depending on your previous result.
  • If you are pregnant, you will be invited every three months during your pregnancy because there is a higher risk that your eyes may develop changes caused by pregnancy.
  • If you can’t attend the appointment, please re-arrange for a more convenient time.
  • Your GP will be kept up to date with your results and we will write to you if you have not attended for screening and ask you to contact us to re-book.
