The wards at Lincoln County Hospital and a few details of each one are available below:
Ashby Ward
This is a neuro-rehabilitation
ward that deals with brain injuries and illnesses. It is located on
level 2 of the hospital off the main corridor.

Bailgate Ward
This is an observation ward used to observe patients who may need further treatment or surgery.
It is also used by patients waiting to be moved on the specific ward where they require treatment. It is located in the Accident and Emergency
Department.

Bardney Ward
This is a ward specifically for women in labour. It is located in the
maternity building on level 5.

This is a breast assessment unit. It is located on the fourth floor of the maternity building.

Burton Ward
This is a general medicine ward that deals mainly with renal and diabetic patients.
It is located on the lower level 1 of the main hospital building along
the corridor from EAU.

Carlton/Coleby Ward
This is a
respiratory ward. It is located on the lower level 1 of the main
hospital building.

Caythorpe Ward
This is a diabetes and gastroenterology ward. It is located on the ground floor next to EAU.

Clayton Ward
This is a complex needs
for the elderly ward. It is located on the entrance level of the main
hospital building past the WHSmiths shop and left at the end of the
corridor opposite Waddington Ward.

Day Surgery Unit
This is a day surgery unit that deals with all types of surgery except for gynaecology. It is located on the entrance floor level of the main hospital building past the
WHSmiths shop and to the end of the corridor.
Then take a right and left at the end of that corridor and it is next to Marshall Ward.

Digby Ward
This is an acute general surgery ward. It is located on the entrance floor of the main
hospital building past the WHSmiths shop and to the right at the end of the corridor next to Stow Ward.

This is a gastroenterology and general medicine ward. It is located on the lower level one of the main hospital building, down the main corridor and next to
Burton Ward.

Emergency Assessment Unit
This is a unit that deals with
medicine surgery and urology emergency assessment, for adults. It is located on the lower level 1 of the main hospital building past reception and
radiotherapy and oncology.
It is straight down the corridor opposite the education centre.

Greetwell Ward
This is a general surgical ward. It is located on the entrance level of the main hospital building past
the WHSmiths shop and to the left at the end of the corridor.

Hatton Ward
This ward cares for elderly patients and their medical needs. It is located on the entrance floor of the main hospital building next
to the Waddington Unit.

This is a gynaecology ward. It is located on the ground floor of the
maternity building.

Ingham Ward
This is a ward that deals
with cancer patients and is where they receive chemotherapy treatment.
It is located on the lower level 1 of the main hospital.

Intensive Care Unit
This is a unit that deals with all of the patients requiring intensive care regardless of illness or injury. It is located on the entrance level of the
main hospital building next to the WHSmiths shop.

Open visiting operates on this ward. However, it is requested that visitors are limited to family and close friends, there are only two visitors to a bed at any one time. It is best to schedule a visit late morning following ward rounds.
Johnson Ward
This is a cardiac ward that deals mainly with heart attack patients and heart treatments. There is also a coronary care unit located in Johnson
Ward. It is located on the lower level 1 of the main hospital building next to reception and Ingham
Ward.

Lancaster Ward
This is a ward that
deals with general medicine for the care of the elderly. It is located
on the entrance floor of the hospital following the corridor round and
signs to Maternity. It can be found on the left of the corridor next to

Marshall Ward
This is a surgical and
urology ward. It is located on the entrance floor of the main hospital

Navenby Ward
This is a cardio respiratory ward. It is located in the lower level of
the main hospital building and is opposite EAU. Contact (01522) 573929

Nettleham Ward
This is an ante-natal and post-natal ward dealing specifically
with newborn babies. There is an assessment unit on the ward. It is located on level 2 of the maternity building.

Neustadt/Welton Ward
This is an orthopaedic ward dealing with a variety of orthopaedic patients. It is located on the entrance floor of

Nocton Ward
This is a neo-natal intensive care unit. It is located in the
maternity building on level 6.

Open visiting operates on this ward for parents. Visiting times are 11am - 12.30pm and 2.30pm - 7.30pm for all other visitors (only parents and two visitors at any given time, no children apart from siblings).
Rainforest Ward
This is a paediatric
ward dealing with the care of children. It is located on the entrance
floor of the hospital following the corridor round and signs to
Maternity. It can be found on the left of the corridor next to the

Open visiting operates on this ward for parents and carers. The visiting times are 2pm - 4pm for all other visitors.
Safari Ward
This is a children's
day ward dealing with children aged from 1 week to 15 years old. The
ward handles various surgeries and is also a paediatric assessment unit.
It is located on the entrance floor of the hospital following the
corridor round and signs to Maternity.

This is a surgical emergency

main hospital building, to the left of the reception and through the Emergency Assessment Unit.

This is a general
surgery ward used by various patients but specialising in Ear, Nose and
Throat and Maxillofacial surgery. It is located on the entrance floor of
the main hospital past the WHSmiths shop and right
at the end of the corridor, next to Stow Ward.

This is a ward dealing with orthopaedic traumas. It is located on the entrance floor of the main hospital building past the

Stroke Unit
This is a unit that
deals specifically with stroke patients. It is located on the lower
level 1 floor of the main hospital building past the WHSmiths shop turn
left and take the lift down.
