Andrology

The andrology service at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust provides advice and treatment for male patients who have problems associated with sexual dysfunction.

The Andrology service supports both General Practioners and hospital consultants. Tests are performed either as part of investigating male fertility or in assessment of the success of vasectomy procedures. We advise patients and clinicians on how to ensure that the optimal quality sample is obtained for the investigation needed. Samples for infertility investigations are assessed against World Health Organisation standards for a range of sperm characteristics including quantity, quality and motility. Samples for post vasectomy testing are carefully examined for the presence of any sperm, and we will advise if additional testing is required.

Testing is carried out at Pilgrim Hospital, Boston and Diana Princess of Wales Hospital Grimsby, although samples can be delivered by arrangement to Lincoln County Hospital, Grantham and District Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole District Hospital.
