Grantham wards information
The wards at Grantham and District Hospital and a few details of each one are available below:
Ward 1
This is an acute medicine ward with beds designated for stroke and cardiac monitored patients.
It is located in the maternity building.

Ward 2
This is a general medical ward
dealing mainly with respiratory cases. It is located on the first floor
of the maternity building.

Ward 5
This is an orthopaedic and trauma
ward dealing with, amongst other matters, joint-replacement and RTA
fracture treatment. It is located in the main hospital building opposite the
Day Ward.

Ward 6
This is a general surgical ward that also deals with medical patients.
It is located in the main hospital building just past Ward 5 and on the right.

Critical Care Unit
This is a unit that deals with the care of critically ill or injured patients.
It is located in the main hospital building just before the Endoscopy Ward.

Day ward
This is a general surgery ward
and medical unit, for day patients.
Patients usually remain in the ward for 1 day or half a day. The ward is
also the first point of contact for all inpatients arriving at the
hospital before they are admitted to the relevant wards. It is located in the main hospital building next to the Endoscopy Ward.

Emergency Assessment Unit
This is a unit that deals with assessment of all emergency cases. It is located in the main hospital building opposite the
theatres.

Endoscopy ward
This is a ward that deals
with patients undergoing endoscopy procedures. It is located in the main hospital building. From the road entrance take the first
right hand corridor and then the first left corridor and the ward is on the right.

Kingfisher Ward
This is an ambulatory
care ward for children. It is mainly a day care ward. It is located in
the main hospital building, near the entrance to the maternity
department.

Midwifery Managed Unit
This is a small homely unit providing one to one care for low risk women in labour. It is located on the top floor of the maternity building.
