Grantham wards information

The wards at Grantham and District Hospital and a few details of each one are available below:

Ward 1
This is an acute medicine ward with beds designated for stroke and cardiac monitored patients. It is located in the maternity building. Contact (01476) 464218

Visiting times are 2pm - 4pm and 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Ward 2
This is a general medical ward dealing mainly with respiratory cases. It is located on the first floor of the maternity building. Contact (01476) 464220

Ward 5
This is an orthopaedic and trauma ward dealing with, amongst other matters, joint-replacement. It is located in the main hospital building opposite the Day Ward. Contact (01476) 464369

Ward 6
This is a general surgical ward that also deals with medical patients. It is located in the main hospital building just past Ward 5 and on the right. Contact (01476) 464263

Critical Care Unit
This is a unit that deals with the care of critically ill or injured patients. It is located in the main hospital building just before the Emerald Suite (breast unit and former ADL). Contact (01476) 464266

Day ward
This is a general surgery ward and medical unit, for day patients. Patients usually remain in the ward for 1 day or half a day. The ward is also the first point of contact for all inpatients arriving at the hospital before they are admitted to the relevant wards. It is located in the main hospital building next to the Endoscopy Ward. Contact (01476) 464408

Emergency Assessment Unit
This is a unit that deals with assessment of all emergency cases. It is located in the main hospital building on corridor D. Contact (01476) 464430 / 464634 / 464345

Visiting times are 2pm - 4pm and 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Endoscopy Unit
This is a unit that deals with patients undergoing endoscopy procedures. It is located in the main hospital building on corridor C. From the A&E entrance go left, follow it down to the end and turn right onto corridor A and follow it down to the end. Turn right onto corridor C and the unit is found through the second double doors on the right. F. Contact (01476) 464366

Kingfisher Ward
This is an ambulatory care ward for children incorporating an assessment unit, children's outpatient department and a children's community nurse team. It is mainly a day care ward. It is located in the main hospital building, near the entrance to the maternity department. Contact (01476) 464284

Opening hours are 10am - 5pm.

Community Midwives
The Community Midwives are located on the top floor of the maternity building and are due to be relocated to a new Community Midwife Hub. Contact (01476) 464334
