What do you like best about your job?
That it allows me to meet a vast amount of staff across many different areas within the organisation, and that I still have a degree of patient contact.

Which three people, living or dead, would you invite to a dinner party and why?
Billy Connolly- I just love his humour.

Tom Hanks- To see what he’s like off-screen.

My nan- I’d love the chance to have one more conversation with her.

Who had the greatest influence on your career?
Jane Thomas (my first ward manager).

If you could have any superpower what would it be?
The power to read people’s minds.

What was the last thing that made you smile?
My nephew heard he passed his exams today.

What talent do you wish you had?
I wish I could make things, something like carpentry or building – a hands-on talent.

What is your favourite band?
Coldplay.

What is your greatest achievement?
Passing my masters.

What’s your favourite book?
Tough to choose, but a recent read which is great for anyone working in a hospital is “This is going to Hurt” by Adam Kay.

If you could change one thing about where you work what would it be?
That it works differently on all sites and all wards within each site.

How would you like to be remembered?
For making a positive difference to people’s lives, both in and out of work.
