ULHT’s ambition is to be a great Trust, to provide excellence in rural healthcare and to do this we know that we need to change.  But we can’t do it on our own – we need all staff to come on this journey with us together.

You can do this by getting involved with our new quality improvement programme. We are aiming for 200 members of staff to be involved in a short programme to improve quality in their own area.

If you have a great idea to improve quality in your team that is linked to our 2021 roadmap programmes or ambitions, or you want to make an improvement in your existing day job and would like to learn some improvement techniques then ask your manager to nominate you today.

ULHT has been fortunate to receive funding from Health Education England to work with IIC Consultancy for this programme, who are experts in service improvements.

Participants will be asked to bring a piece of work – something which either improves the patient journey and/or positively impacts on the learning environment for trainees and staff, or is an existing improvement piece of work in their area.

There will be four half-day workshops with supported action periods where IIC Consultancy will teach participants how to apply service improvement and innovation tools.

Workshops will be run on all three sites with the support of a coach and a ULHT site lead.

This is an exciting opportunity for our staff to lead front line change which will contribute to achieving our 2021 Strategy. This is about doing the day job differently, not adding more work.

By working with IIC, we are developing a workforce of the future where our own staff lead on improvements and sustain them in the future.

Please send nominations as soon as possible to secure a place and enable us to pull together 9 groups of around 20 people across our sites by the end of next week.
