I had been an Anaesthetist before choosing Emergency Medicine as my career. I worked as Specialist Anaesthetist in Saudi Arabia from 1993 to 2000. I came to the UK in April 2000. While working in Anaesthesia in UK, I noticed the challenges and scope of Emergency Medicine as a specialty and felt that my knowledge and experience of Anaesthesia would be a useful asset. Therefore, I started my career in Emergency Medicine in 2004. I did my Registrar-training from East of England (Cambridge) Deanery. I became a Consultant at Pilgrim Hospital ED as soon as I finished my Registrar Training.
I have been a Consultant for more than four years now. Since January 2013 I have taken up the responsibiity of Clinical Lead for the department. I also provide the Clinical Governance cover for Skegness Hospital Urgent Care Centre.
