We are proud of the care provided by Grantham and District Hospital and are committed to its future. In recent years, we have invested millions of pounds in two new theatres, in diagnostic equipment and in other areas of the hospital.
However, the old buildings fronting on to Manthorpe Road, have over time become derelict and disused. These buildings are now regarded by many as an eyesore and unsafe.
We have for some time been considering the future of the old buildings and what can be done to either bring them back into use or dispose of them.
To help develop the future plans for the old buildings, we are running a public engagement exercise until Monday 31 March 2025. We want to hear your ideas. This could involve renovating the buildings either for NHS use or to sell, or if not feasible could involve demolishing the buildings and re-using the land or selling off the land to a third party. Whatever the future use, we will ensure that it is of benefit to the local community.
We recognise the importance of the building and how it holds many fond memories for local residents.
There are several different ways members of the public, including neighbours, staff and other interested parties, can have their say:
Complete a short online survey.
- Register to attend an in person event via Eventbrite on Monday 3 March from 6pm to 7pm or on Wednesday 12 March from 1pm to 2pm. Both of these in-person sessions will be held at the hospital but numbers are limited.
- Attend an online engagement session via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 6 March from 10am to 11am and Tuesday 11 March from 6pm to 7pm.
