Membership

Engaging the public is not only about keeping them informed about what is going on at the Trust, but also getting them involved in the life of the Trust and the decisions we make, and encouraging them to sign up as members. We have committed to becoming a membership organisation and we now have more than 1,000 members.

We need you!

Engaging the public is not only about keeping them informed about what is going on at the Trust, but also getting them involved in the life of the Trust and the decisions we make, and encouraging them to sign up as members. We have committed to becoming a membership organisation and we now have more than 1,000 members.

Our members

Members hold influence over our organisation through our Locality Forums. These are quarterly members meetings which are a formal part of the Trust’s governance structure. The forums are chaired by site led non-executive directors of the Trust and attended by executive directors and site management leads. They provide the opportunity for public and staff members to receive updates on what is going on within the Trust and provide a formal mechanism for their views and feedback to be fed back into the organisation. Members can be as involved in the Trust as they wish to be. We would like to see as many people as possible taking an active part in the life of the Trust and getting involved in helping us to shape our services.

We have three levels of membership to suit you:

  1. Receive regular information, e.g. regular newsletter and consultation on the Trust’s future plans
  2. Level 1 plus attending members Locality Forums, focus groups, and members information sessions
  3. Levels 1 and 2 plus training up as patient representative to sit on boards and committees, job interview panels and take part in visits and inspections
