Single Equality Scheme

About the scheme

We launched our first single equality scheme in April 2009. The single equality scheme replaces the existing race, disability and gender equality schemes, but also includes how we will challenge discrimination and promote equality for people of different ages, for people of different faiths and for lesbian, gay, bisexual and Transgender people. The scheme was developed in partnership with staff, patients and the public. United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust held a joint event with NHS Lincolnshire called 'Everyone's NHS?', to find out the views of patients and the public on whether our services were accessible, and what we could do to improve our services. Monitoring and accountability for the scheme

Corporate responsibility for the Single Equality Scheme lies with the Chief Executive. The Director of Human Resources is the board champion for equality and diversity. All board members have a responsibility for ensuring that the Single Equality Scheme is implemented and for promoting equality in the Trust’s business. Responsibility for delivery will rest with the identified lead for each of the following outcome areas in the action plan.
