GP Specialty Training Programme

Lincoln

The Lincoln GP Specialty Training Programme is well established and a wide range of excellent training practices is available. There are six rural dispensing practices in village locations or small market towns and two urban practices based in Lincoln.

Lincoln is an attractive cathedral and university city with many amenities. We have a very good record of GP registrars finding local partnerships. We pride ourselves on being a small, friendly, supportive and popular scheme.

We hold an introductory residential course each year for the new registrars on the programme. There is a regular and varied programme of postgraduate medical education, which is based at the well-equipped Postgraduate Medical Education Centre within Lincoln County Hospital. A half-day release course for the programme is run throughout the three years. The subjects discussed cover a wide variety of important matters in preparation for entry into general practice. Arrangements are made for GP registrars to attend outpatient clinics in other specialties.
