A&E live waiting times
- Note
- These images update every two minutes between 08:00 (8am) and 20:00 (8pm) and every 10 minutes between 20:00 (8pm) and 08:00 (8am)
For the first time patients can see waiting times in A&E from the comfort of their own home
In a bid to improve patient service and offer more choice, the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is now running A&E webcams at Lincoln County Hospital, Pilgrim Hospital, Boston and Grantham and District Hospital.
The cameras, which take a blurred image at source to protect patient confidentiality, offer real-time images of A&E departments and predicted waiting times.
This means that some of the 75% of patients who attend A&E with minor ailments and injuries can make an informed choice about where to attend and when – including whether they could visit their GP.
Although it is important to reiterate that our A&E services remain accessible to all and if patients need A&E care they should not hesitate to come in and/or contact us.
Patients have responded well to the webcam, with more than 100,000 hits on the webcam page of the website since it was set up.
It has also created a more efficient service for all as it has reduced the number of calls staff have to take from individuals asking about waiting times.
