Trust Board

Top-level management within the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust is carried out by its Trust Board. This is a group made up of hospital Executive Directors - Trust employees who manage many of the hospital services - and Non-Executive Directors - civilians who are charged with scrutinising the performance of management within the Trust and providing independent views on the work it does.

The Trust Board holds regular public meetings at which members discuss key issues affecting the Trust such as its performance and where they make decisions about service development and operational strategy.

It is accountable for setting the strategic direction of the Trust, monitoring performance against local and nationally set objectives, ensuring high standards of performance and promoting links between the hospitals and the local community. The board is accountable to the NHS East Midlands Strategic Health Authority on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health.
