Physiotherapy
About our service
Physiotherapy deals with human movement and function. It aims to maximise patient potential and return to normal function following ill health, trauma or disability for other reasons. Physiotherapists work in a wide range of clinical settings from intensive care units caring for acutely ill patients, to outpatient departments helping with people that are living independently at home but have developed a have a painful shoulder or twisted their ankle.
The service offers a positive approach to treatment planning and goal setting, maximising patient involvement in their own care, encouraging them to flourish and achieve personal goals. Through inter-professional working we aim to ensure an efficient and safe journey with the best possible patient outcome.
Physiotherapists are registered by the Health Professions Council and as such are required to meet and maintain the Standards of proficiency, Standards of conduct, performance and ethics and demonstrate their Continuing Professional Development.
