Pain Management

We provide a comprehensive pain management service across the county for acute and chronic pain. These services encompass core and specialist elements.

The ability to maintain service provision and meet government targets relating to wait to first definitive treatment is due to advanced nurse practitioners who enhance the consultant led service within our hospitals by seeing new and follow up patients in primary and secondary care settings within the locality, at Louth, Skegness and Spalding.

A range of treatment options are undertaken in the outpatient setting such as selected nerve blocks, simple local injections procedures, simple joint injections, tenderpoint and Botox injections by the medical staff, use of TENS machines and acupuncture therapy by the nursing staff, Shiatsu by an external practitioner and pharmacological management by both medical and nursing staff.
