Orthodontics

We provide a comprehensive secondary care orthodontic service to Lincolnshire.

The orthodontic service provides opinions to dental practitioners, medical practitioners and community dental officers as well as liaison with specialist practitioners and dentists with a special interest in orthodontic treatment. The service also provides liaison and joint treatment with hospital consultants including maxillofacial surgeons, plastic surgeons paediatricians and restorative dental surgeons.

Within the hospitals’ orthodontic clinics treatment is provided for patients with severe and high complex treatment. The majority of these patients have multi-speciality treatment, for example interdisciplinary care for patients with jaw deformities, cleft lip and palate problems, impacted and displaced teeth and other severe malocclusions.

The Orthodontic Department also has a teaching and training role, teaching and training specialist registrars and ongoing teaching and supervision of dental practitioners with a special interest in orthodontic treatment.
