Productive Ward - Releasing Time to Care
The vision for our Trust - Getting everyone in the organisation to think in the right way, about the right things and continually challenge the way things are done.
The Productive Ward project helps staff to look at their ward and the process of care within it.
Productive Ward can bring many benefits –
- Increase the time nurses have to provide direct patient care by eliminating waste
- Help staff to provide safer and more reliable care
- Improve the experience of patients and staff
The Productive Ward is based on work by the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement
Productive Ward has already made a significant impact to both patients and staff on those wards which have started the project –
- "100% of staff feel the changes in handover has given them more time with patients” (Junior Sister)
- “There is more time to give good care to patients” (Nursing Staff)
- “We are offering more quality of care” (Nursing Staff)
- “Because they are bedded down earlier at night patients are getting more rest” (Nursing Staff)
- “We had a new doctor started on the ward who said our treatment room was the best organised that he has seen” (Junior Sister)
