“I would like to thank all the staff who looked after me so well after my operation. Their care and attention was second to none, nothing was too much trouble for them and all the time they did everything with a smile.”

Waiting times

Our aim is to see and treat patients within 18 weeks of their referral to our hospitals, whether they are seen as inpatients or outpatients.

We are measured on the median average times that our patients have to wait to be seen and treated and the current national plan is to have a maximum median wait of 11.1 weeks for admitted patients, with the maximum waiting time in the 95% percentile of 23.0 weeks. We aim to have a maximum median wait of 6.6 weeks for non admitted patients, with the maximum waiting time for the 95% percentile of 18.3 weeks.

Over the last few years, we have been working towards these targets and have reduced waiting times for most patients
