Infection control measures
The Trust is compliant with the Department of Health MRSA screening guidance which means that patients who attend for operations, procedures or for emergency treatment are tested for MRSA prior to or on arrival. Our policy for MRSA screening provides more detail about the arrangements for MRSA testing.
Our efforts have ensured that we have continued to reduce the levels of all infections, including MRSA and Clostridium difficile and we now have very low infection rates.
Improvements continue, with MRSA cases reduced by 61% in the last year and Clostridium difficile cases reduced by 41%.
